THe 29 year old wing will be unable to take any further part in the Tri-Nations series and may now focus his attention on joining Clermont Averngne who got their French Top 14 campaign off to a winning start against Pau at the weekend.
Paulse's first taste of Heineken Cup action looks likely to be their opening Pool 3 Round 1 match against Leicester Tigers on Saturday, 21 October.
