The Llanelli Scarlets centre and one of the Heineken Cup's leading try scorers, Dafydd James, has been named in the Welsh side to play South Africa following a three year absence.
James, who has scored an impressive 23 tries in 46 Heineken Cup appearances, was recalled to the Wales national squad as a late injury replacement and last played for Wales in the 2002 against New Zealand.
James will start on the right-wing replacing Kevin Morgan who is out with an ankle injury and is one of five changes made by Mike Ruddock from his starting side that defeated Fiji 11-10 last weekend.
The 30 year old scored his 23rd Heineken Cup try in Round 1 against Toulouse and is the second highest try scorer in the tournament's history after the now retired Michel Marfaing from Toulouse on 24 tries. James could earn an ERC Elite award this season if he can become the first player to score 25 tries in the 10 years of the Heineken Cup action.
The Sc'arlets ace is partnered at centre for Wales by another Heineken Cup high scorer, Stephen Jones. The 28 year old ASM Clermon Auvergne star, who makes his 50th international cap this weekend, has scored 564 points in the Heineken Cup and is just one game away from earning an ERC Elite award for 50 appearances in the elite European club tournament.
