Biarritz Olympique's Argentinean centre Martin Gaitan will be unavailable to the Basque side for the rest of the season due to a recurring knee injury.
The 28 year old had surgery on the knee injury in April and spent the last few months in recovery. The seven times Heineken Cup capped player made his come back for Biarritz Olympique in their Top 14 victory against Pau last weekend but his return was short lived as he was forced off after 20 minutes due to a recurrence of the injury.
The reigning French champions and last year's Heineken Cup semi-finals Biarritz are currently in third place in Pool 4 of the Heineken Cup. The Basques will return to Heineken Cup action in December with back to back games against Benetton Treviso and will need to get results against Ulster and Saracens in Round 5 and 6 to be sure of making it to the business end of the tournament.
