London Wasps have signed Irish prop Peter Bracken from Connacht ahead of their Pool 6 Heineken Cup campaign.
Bracken is the third Irish player signed by Wasps over the summer, joining Eoin Reddan and Jeremy Staunton, who both announced their move to Wasps in June. The trio will join another former Connacht star Johnny O'Connor at the home of the English champions.
Bracken is a powerful tight head prop that Wasps forwards' coach Craig Dowd describes as, "big and strong, with immense strength."
Dowd continued, "Peter is a good technician who gave some good props a rough ride last season. He is keen to succeed at the highest level, for both club and country, and moving to Wasps could give him that opportunity."
Bracken said, "I'm very excited about moving to Wasps. Playing for such a successful team, and in the Guinness Premiership, is a huge challenge but one that I am looking forward to immensely. I'd like to thank all the staff and supporters at Galwegians and Connacht for their help and support in the past 5 years, and wish them all the best for the future."
The 2004 Heineken Cup champions will start their Heineken Cup campaign away to Edinburgh Rugby at Murrayfield on the weekend of 21/22/23 October.
