Pau prop Lionel Faure has agreed to join Sale Sharks next season - less than a month before facing his new team mates in the European Challenge Cup.
Faure, 27, signed a two-year deal with the Heineken Cup-bound Sharks as coach Phillipe Saint Andre looks to strengthen his squad for next year's campaign.
And Sale fans will get to see Faure in action first-hand when he lines up for current club Pau in the Challenge Cup Final at Oxford's Kassam Stadium on May 21.
Fellow countryman Saint Andre said: "The Sharks front row has been in excellent form all season but the demands of Heineken Cup rugby next year means that I must continue to strengthen this area.
"Lionel is a typical French prop, bristling with aggression and power. He has the added benefit of being an accomplished hooker, giving us excellent cover with both Andy Titterrell and Sebastien Bruno liable to miss games whilst on international duty."
The move comes after the Edgley Road outfit had already swooped to sign Elvis Sevalai'l and Nathan Bonner-Evans from the Neath-Swansea Ospreys.
The pair were released by the Celtic League champions last week and Sale have wasted no time in snapping up 26-year-old back Sevalai'l and No 8 Bonner Evans.
Director of Rugby Philippe Saint Andre said, " I am delighted to announce the signatures of both Elvis and Nathan. Both players will be valuable additions to my squad. Elvis has enjoyed a great season at The Ospreys playing alongside Gavin Henson. He is a quick athletic skilful footballer with an excellent try scoring record from both centre and wing.
"Nathan is a rugged forward, regarded as one of Wales brightest young talents who I expect to be in contention for a starting place next season.
