The former Lions, Ireland and Harlequins hooker Keith Wood has joined the London Irish Board of Directors.
The 2001 IRB player of the year, who retired after Ireland's World Cup campaign in 2003, has a strong European club rugby pedigree having played 31 times in Europe. Wood won a European Challenge Cup medal with Harlequins in 2001 having previously just missed out on a Heineken Cup media with Munster when the Irish province lost to Northampton Saints in the 2000 final.
Announcing several new appointments to the Board London Irish Chairman
Andrew Coppel said: "It is a positive reflection on the club that such high calibre individuals are keen to devote their valuable time to our affairs. I have no doubt that he will make a major contribution to the future success of London Irish, complementing the strong qualities of the current Board."
Wood holds the record the most international test tries scored by a hooker with 15 and was Ireland's captain 36 times.
