Justin Marshall's citing has been dismissed by an independent Disciplinary Committee and he will be free for selection this weekend against Northampton Saints
An independent Disciplinary Committee convened in Dublin today (Thursday, 16 October), to hear a citing complaint against Justin Marshall, the Montpellier scrum half (No 9), arising from the Round 1 European Challenge Cup Pool 2 match against Bristol Rugby at Stade Yves du Manoir on Friday, 10 October, 2008.
The citing lodged by the Citing Commissioner for the match, Alberto Recaldini (Italy), was for an alleged dangerous tackle on Bristol Rugby wing Tom Arscott (No 11) in contravention of Law 10.4 (e).
The independent Disciplinary Committee was chaired by Mark McParland (Ireland) and also consisted of Rob Flockhart (Scotland) and Simon Thomas (Wales).
After considering the evidence available, the independent Disciplinary Committee determined that Mr Marshall was not guilty of foul play and therefore dismissed the citing.
Both parties have the right to appeal.
