Calvisano were crowned champions of Italy for only the second time on Saturday, after beating Benetton Treviso in the final of the Super 10.
Calvisano recorded their second national title in three years with a 20 points to 3 win over Treviso at Monza in a match which saw the referee issue three yellow cards and one red to the two Heineken Cup qualified sides.
Thirteen-time Italian champions Treviso failed to score in the first half while a Paul Griffen penalty were Calvisano's only points before the break.
In the second half Calvisano, currently being managed by former Narbonne coach Marc Delpoux, pulled away with two tries from Cameron Treolar and Pratichetti, while Treviso could only manage a penalty in eighty minutes.
Over 11,000 fans saw Calvisano lift the trophy three years after beating Treviso in the final in 2005.
