French sides Montpellier and Montauban clash this evening in the Top 14 with the possibility of a Heineken Cup place for next season on the line.
One of them looks set to make history as neither have competed in Europe's premier club rugby tournament before.
Toulouse's run to the Heineken Cup final earned France a seventh spot in next season's tournament and the first five of these places have now been confirmed even with two rounds of the Top 14 to play.
The race is now on to see who will join ASM Clerment Auvergne, Toulouse, Biarritz Olympique, Perpignan, Castres Olympique and Stade Français Paris in the 2008 / 2009 Heineken Cup.
Going into this evening's clash Montauban currently lie seventh in the league table with 58 points while Montpellier are eighth with 53 points. A bonus point win for Montauban would secure the seventh coveted French place while Montpellier need to beat Montauban with by least eight points to keep their Heineken Cup dream alive.
Bayonne and Bourgoin can also still potentially qualify but would need results to go their way.
