Ronan O'Gara is poised to become the first player to break through the Heineken Cup 1,000-points barrier.
The Munster marksman needs just seven more to reach four figures. His 993 points have so far come in 78 tournament matches at an average of 12.73 points a game.
His total is made up of eight tries, 133 conversions, 216 penalty goals and 13 drop goals. Incredibly, he has scored in his last 61 appearances for the reigning Heineken Cup champions, the last time he finished a match without getting on the scoreboard in the 18-5 defeat at Bath Rugby on 28 October, 2000.
Brian O'Driscoll is another star Irish player on the brink of a milestone, the Leinster centre crossing for his 24th Heineken Cup try in the Round 3 victory over Castres Olympique. It was the Irish captain's fourth try of the season while his overall try tally has come in 54 matches.
O'Driscoll's club-mate, Shane Horgan, the Ireland and Leinster wing, is also one try short of the 25-try mark. Only two players have so far scored 25 Heineken Cup tries - Dafydd James (29) and Vincent Clerc (27).
And, Allan Jacobsen, the Edinburgh prop, is one match short of 50 appearances.
