Wasps stay right in the mix

The English champions welcome Andy Robinson's men to Adams Park on the back of a 25-16 win in the Scottish capital courtesy of a late Tom Rees try and 20 points from the boot of England outside half Danny Cipriani.

The win saw Wasps strengthen their hold on second spot in Pool 2 after they bounced back from an defeat to group leaders Leinster with a 25-11 home win over French side Castres Olympique.

"It certainly gives us a bit of momentum," said Edwards, whose team are searching for their third Heineken Cup crown in the space of six tournaments.

"But we can't afford to lose another game in the Heineken Cup if we want to have any chance of qualifying.

"We're very, very cautious of the Edinburgh team. They won at Castres in their last away game so next week is another massive game for us.

"You can see the reason why they won away in Castres. They're a very, very well-coached team. They've got some potent attacking threats and that is why the Scotland team did well in the autumn internationals.

"Scotland pushed South Africa incredibly close and could have won that game and you can see why because the Edinburgh team is stacked full of Scottish internationals. Edinburgh are a team to be reckoned with and respected."

A third Heineken Cup win next weekend would keep Wasps' hopes of reaching the knockout stages very much alive - something that Edwards admits is very much part of the agenda for a club steeped in Heineken Cup tradition.

"The Heineken Cup is a huge event - it's the premier event in European rugby," he said. "It is very exciting to go to beautiful cities like Edinburgh and it's one of the reasons why it's so brilliant to be involved in club rugby.

"It's always been extremely important. In the Guinness Premiership, we've got on the wrong end of some very close scorelines and, fortunately, we were on the right end of a close scoreline on Friday.

"We'll have a couple of days off and then we'll start preparing for a big game. Let's hope we can sell it out and get some real atmosphere - the atmosphere that the Heineken Cup deserves."
