ERC can confirm that the Federation Française de Rugby (FFR) has withdrawn its application to host the 2014 Heineken Cup and Amlin Challenge Cup finals, due to the ongoing uncertainty regarding the availability of the Stade de France.
.. "It's probably the last chance for a number of us to win the Heineken Cup this season. That's what we want most of all," admitted Pichot.
"Stade Francais is a great club that deserves to win the Heineken Cup. We came close against Toulouse two years ago, and now we want to go on and become European champions.
"We played the Ospreys off the pitch in the first half but we have to realise that being on top for 40 minutes isn't enough. We have to keep on playing like we did in the first half for the full 80 minutes.
"Losing David Skrela and then a player to the sin bin meant we couldn't finish off the Ospreys. We lost some composure and had some indiscipline. They came back well and you cannot afford to have any lapses of concentration at this level because Heineken Cup rugby is on a par with the international game.
"We were very close to throwing the game away, although we didn't crumble at the end when some teams might have been psychologically dead.
"After today we will have to roll up our sleeves and try harder. We want to win the Heineken Cup and we are going to do everything we can to do that.
