Marshall looks ahead to new season
10 August 2006, 3:09 pm
All Blacks legend Justin Marshall looks ahead to his first season with Ospreys, as the Welsh team set their sights on the Heineken Cup.
And the ultra-confident Marshall firmly believes the Ospreys will produce the goods this season, reported Simon Thomas, Western Mail

"We've got big aspirations," he said.

"We are really determined to emulate what we did a couple of years ago and win the Celtic League.

"And I would be lying if I didn't say Europe was at the forefront of our thinking.

"The Heineken Cup is the biggest trophy in Europe and I got a feel for it last year with Leeds. I'm looking forward to having another crack at it.

"We are determined to make our mark in the competition this year. To say that we want to win it is a step too far at this stage.

"It's naive to look any further than the quarter-finals at the moment.

"But I know from personal experience with the Canterbury Crusaders that if you can get to the knockout stages of a cup competition, then anything can happen.

"Our first goal here at the Ospreys is to get to the quarter-finals, and we believe we can do that.

"If can achieve that goal, then anything is possible."
