| The move follows the departure of FC Grenoble, a former Top 16 club, from professional rugby. The Club, which was relegated from the top flight last season, has run into financial difficulties and has had to release the majority of its playing squad from their professional contracts and aims to compete at amateur level.
The LNR has extended the transfer window until August 24th and will allow the 14 French professional clubs competing in the Heineken Cup and European Challenge Cup to add to their squads in the coming weeks. Each French clubs can have a maximum of 33 professional contracts.
