| "This is great news for the tournament and for the fans," said ERC chairman Jean-Pierre Lux. "By switching the game from Stade Jean Bouin to Parc de Princes, which has a capacity of over 40,000, there is a possibility that Stade Francais Paris could more than double their attendance for this prestigious game.
"The quarter-final games are always sell-out occasions and it is great to see clubs with home advantage looking to switch to bigger venues.
"Leinster have already sold more than 30,000 tickets for their game at Lansdowne Road against Leicester Tigers, Toulouse are anticipating a full house at Le Stadium for their clash with Northampton Saints and now there will be plenty of extra space for the rugby fans in Paris to come and cheer on their team against a Falcons side full of top talent like Jonny Wilkinson, Matt Burke, Jamie Noon, Mathew Tait, Stuart Grimes and Colin Charvis.
"We have a fantastic line-up of teams in the quarter-finals and every game offers a mouth watering prospect for the fans. ERC applauds this move by Max Guazzini and Stade Francais Paris and urges sports fans throughout France to back the move."
The quarter-final will be the second time Parc des Princes has hosted a Heineken Cup game. On 19 May, 2001, Stade Francais Paris were involved in one of the most dramatic club matches ever played when they met Leicester Tigers in the sixth Heineken Cup final in front of 44,000 fans.
Despite 30 points from the boot of Diego Dominguez, the home side went down 34-30 as Martin Johnson's Leicester side ran in three tries to take the title for the first time.
