The quarter-final will be the second time Parc des Princes has hosted a Heineken Cup game. On 19 May, 2001, Stade Francais Paris were involved in one of the most dramatic club matches ever played when they met Leicester Tigers in the sixth Heineken Cup final in front of 44,000 fans.

Despite 30 points from the boot of Diego Dominguez, the home side went down 34-30 as Martin Johnson's Leicester side ran in three tries to take the title for the first time.
