**Caerphilly coach Mark Ring admits to knowing nothing about his side's hosts this weekend and has described the trip to Italy as 'a step into the unknown'. What the statistics will tell Ring is that Rovigo have played 20 European matches and won only two of them, at Bedford in the Euroepan Shield in 1999/2000 and at home against Caerphilly in 1998/99.
That 34-14 triumph over the Welshmen didn't stop them moving into the quarter-finals that year, but it shoudl provide Ring with some amunition for his team talk.
Caerphilly are seeking their first win of the season after 10 successive defeats, while Rovigo will be hoping to improve on their 27-16 home defeat by Rugby Parma last weekend.
