European Challenge Cup favourites Sale Sharks have bolstered their already bulging pack with the signature of Grand Slam-winning lock Brent Cockbain.
The Australian born Wales international adds to a forward unit that boasts 12 internationals from five countries.
Sale head coach Kingsley Jones signed Cockbain on a two-and-a-half year deal from the Ospreys, where he had been since 2004.
Jones said, "Brent is well suited to the Guinness Premiership. He's big, tough, resilient - we need people like that in our team and I'm sure he'll bring an edge."
Cockbain can be registered to play in European rugby as an 'additional player'. Under ERC rules each club may nominate one player per round for selection.
