Cardiff Blues watched Bristol beat Welsh opposition in the last couple of weeks and were reminded of the scale of the task facing them as the Heineken Cup kicks off this weekend.
Given that the Blues are top of the Celtic league after the opening weeks of the season and last Saturday's loss at Leicester was only their second of the season, most pundits expect their game against Bristol to be a home win.
However the Scarlets were also flying high until they faced Bristol recently and the result was an object lesson to the Welsh capital side.

"We watched Bristol beat the Scarlets and we knew they were good before that game but it formalised everything for us," admitted Wales centre Jamie Robinson.
"We know they are very good team up front, they know how to squeeze a game out and they have some talented individual players who have the ability to punish you.
"They have the likes of Darren Crompton who played for the Blues a few years ago and Gareth Llewellyn, they did really well to finish as high in the league last year as they did with the intensity they have got.
"We have got to play behind them, it is hard for a defence coming up if you can get over the gainline. They have a great defence so you have to know when to kick the ball away but also how to challenge that defence.
"Stade Francais are the favourites for this group, they have a tremendous squad of talented players, but you can only put 15 of them on the pitch at any one time and it will be interesting to see how they gel together.
"They will not be able to keep everyone happy because they will be challenging for the same spot, we have got to go out against them and really target the home game for a win."
