Gloucester coach Dean Ryan says an "enormous second half" gave his side a crucial victory over the Ospreys on Friday night.
Ryan, whose side fell behind to two Sonny Parker tries, regathered and denied their Welsh opposition a bonus point in the 26-18.
He said: "I think the lessons we've learnt in the past few years saw us through. A lot of players showed a lot of character out there."
Man of the match Luke Narraway added: "The Heineken Cup is a long journey with a any group of players. We gifted them a try and then we got one back.
"In the last 20 minutes, I thought we were outstanding, but we've got Bourgoin next and we know how good they can be."
Echoing his boss, Narraway said next weekend's match against Bourgoin was "an enormous game".
"We all know how good they are at home, so we will be prepared."
