Heineken Cup chief executive Derek McGrath is looking forward to the tournament that some feared might not happen, promising that the only predictable element is the unpredictability.
It looked for a while that French and English clubs might not take part this season, but they will and the English clubs were out in force at the official launch of the 2007/2008 Heineken Cup in the host city for the final Cardiff.

There will be a launch in France next week and McGrath admitted, "We are back where we should be. Many months ago people did not think we would get to this point, but it is fantastic that we are now back having conversations about the quality of the tournament.
"We are back in Cardiff, there are some mouthwatering games coming up and still no-one can predict who is going to win.
"It is a tournament that presents massive opportunities for all the clubs, the players love it and we have seen in recent months how people refer to the tournament. It has found its place in the world of rugby and it can only build and build.
"It does provide a platform on which the best players can test themselves and only the best players can come through.
"This year fans will get a chance to see the stars from New Zealand, South Africa and others playing at a club near you.
"The tournament takes on a life of its own when it kicks off, with surprises, drama and excitement, that is what we trust the tournament to do."
