World Cup winners Lawrence Dallaglio and Simon Shaw are poised to join the ERC Elite 50 club.
The London Wasps forwards have both appeared in 49 Heineken Cup matches and could become the 47th and 48th players to reach a half century of tournament appearances when the defending champions travel to ASM Clermont Auvergne for their Pool 5 showdown on Saturday - and renew acquaintances with former Wasps team-mate and outside half double winner Alex King.
Toulouse wing Vincent Clerc, currently out injured, Leinster wing Shane Horgan and Munster evergreen back row forward Anthony Foley are just two tries short of joining Dafydd James as elite try scorers with 25 tournament tries.
