Newcastle Falcons fly-half, Jonny Wilkinson could return to European Challenge Cup action next weeknend if he completes his comeback match this weekend without incident.
Wilkinson,has been named in the Falcons lineup for the match against London Wasps in the EDF Energy Cup.
"Jonny (Wilkinson) and Toby (Flood) will be fit for Saturday's game and both will start the game," said Newcastle Director of Rugby, John Fletcher.
An ankle injury kept Wilkinson away from the field since the RWC final lost against South Africa (15-6) last October at Stade de France.
But the 28-year-old England No.10 has received the go ahead from Newcastle medical staff to play again in the next game against Wasps, the winner of which will qualify for the Anglo-Welsh competition's semi-finals.
Full back Toby Flood, who also suffered from an ankle injury will also return this weekend.
