The Basque side are having a torrid time in their domestic league, languishing in ninth place with a record of just 10 wins and 12 defeats.
As it stands, they will not earn their place in next seasons Heineken Cup via the league route.
That is not the kind of return that the coaching team of John Isaac / Jean-Michel Gonzalez would have been aiming for at the start of the season. And it is a statistic that demonstrates their slump from a high point of third after round nine, to their standing today.
Four defeats in their last five matches is hardly ideal preparations for a meeting with the in form Ospreys, who are targeting a top four finish in the Magners League.
But in the Heineken Cup, their performance has been dramatically different. Five wins from their six Pool games meant they were the first team into the final eight, eventually coming in seeded second.
So, it is through the Heineken Cup that they will hope to win their place at Europe's top table. Should they beat the Ospreys they will face the winners of the cash between Munster and Northampton Saints in the final four.
