Wales on Track for Grand Slam Glory

Ospreys wing Shane Williams threatened throughout and touched down in the second half for his fortieth test try, equalling Gareth Thomas' Wales international try scoring record.

The Heineken Cup leading points scorer Ronan O'Gara kicked all of Ireland's 12 points with four penalties but the Munster scrum half's efforts as Wales edged the game with 16 points.

Wales will now welcome France at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday with a second Grand Slam in three years on the line.

Murrayfield hosted the biggest surprise of the weekend as Scotland defeated England with Gloucester's Chris Paterson scoring 12 of Scotland's 15 points. Even a world record breaking performance by Jonny Wilkinson who became the highest points scorer in test history was not enough for the English.

In the final game of the weekend France comfortably overcame the Italians 25-13 with two tries from Clermont's Aurelien Rougerie and Anthony Floch and from Toulouse centre Yannick Jauzion. The French will travel to Wales needing a 20 points victory over Warren Gatland's side to keep the Six Nations trophy in French territory.
