Over 3,000 fans flocked to the Perpignan's Stade Aime Giral to get a glimpse of new recruit Dan Carter.
The All Black fly half created quite a stir as he told the assembled media that this season: "Anything is possible".
Carter made a whistle stop tour of his new club before he takes leave to play for his country in the autumn internationals and said.
"The coach and the team know that not one person wins games. It will be a case of how I slot into the team when I return in December, but if we go on with confirdence, anything is possible.
He continued: "I'm very positive about the move and am looking forward to my time here.
"I've heard alot the suport that USAP have and to walk out to that reception was very humbling, very overwhemling and im looking forwar do to playing in fornt of those fans.
Carter was courted by Tanu Umaga's Toulon, but opted to play with the Catalan side who were Heineken Cup runners up in 2003
And the player admitted the lure of the Heineken Cup was a factor in his decision. "It's a competiton I have watched and admired, and always wanted to be a part of. To play a few games in the European Cup really excites me."
Should Carter be selected, his Heineken Cup debut will come in Round 3, when his side are matched with Leicester at Welford Road on December 6.
