London Wasps' double Heineken Cup winning captain Lawrence Dallaglio has announced that this will be his last season playing professional rugby.
The English and Wasps number 8 will retire from the club, where played for his whole career, having won virtually every possible title with his club and country.
Dallaglio's remarkable achievements include two Heineken Cup medals (2004 and 2007), one European Challenge Cup title (2003), three Six Nations championships as well as a Rugby World Cup medal in 2003.
The 35 year old who received an ERC Elite Award earlier this season for having played more than 50 Heineken Cup matches, believes he has being playing his best rugby in the last two years.
Announcing his retirement he said "There will not be another new season for me at Wasps,
"They are my only club and that's how it will remain when my boots hit the bin at the end of the season."
Defending champions Wasps, are currently second in Pool 5 and will host Llanelli Scarlets in Round 5 on Sunday, 13 January 2008 at 1.00 pm before travelling to Thomond Park for the final Pool clash with 2006 champions Munster .
