ASM Clermont Auverge Coach Vern Cotter praised his side for "digging deep" to take the European Challenge Cup back to France.
"We managed to stay in it right to the end and we kept constant pressure on them when they were attacking," said Cotter.
"It was a game of real intensity and my players are very tired. It's just the boost we need before going into the French Championship semi-final.
.."All credit to Bath, they are a proud side who kept going to the final whistle. After we went 22-6 ahead they simply ran harder and faster at us.
"They got a try and a penalty to bring themselves back into it, and I have to admit I had my eyes closed when they were driving that final lineout.
"But our defence was superb and I think we deserved it in the end."
