Dragons boss backs veteran No.8

The Newport-Gwent Dragons head coach has named Charvis at No 8 for Saturday's European Challenge Cup clash against Bucuresti in Romania.

The ex-Wales captain and British Lions star has been in superb form since joining the Dragons this season from Guinness Premiership Newcastle, but failed to make the autumn Test squad.

"I think he's got to be a possibility for the World Cup," said Turner. "We hope he will sign for another year with us.

"He has been tremendous on and off the field. I've found him to be a quality man. He's been very mature in everything he does and he is a
real top professional."

The Dragons bid to keep their quest for success in the cup on-track when they seek to complete a double over Bucuresti in Romania after they defeated them 66-10 at Rodney Parade last Friday.
