Benetton Treviso coach Franco Smith was thrilled with his side's 24-22 victory at Newport Gwent Dragons.
The win was only the perennial Italian champions fifth away win in 29 matches in the Heineken Cup.
Captain Marius Goosen gave Treviso the win with the last kick of a topsy-turvy clash at Rodney Parade.
And former Newport player Smith was delighted to be able to celebrate a winning return.
Smith said: "Both sides gave as good as they got and played some good rugby, especially in the first half.
"I'm very happy and it's a pleasure to come back to Newport and win. It's a sweet moment for me because I've got fond memories of the place and it was emotional.
"We came here to give a spectacular game because we're growing as a team and we're a new group and have new ideas to compete to the Heineken Cup.
