Danny Grewcock has signed a contract extension with Bath which will see him stay at the club until the end of the 2009/10 season.
35-year-old Grewcock signed for Bath Rugby from Saracens in 2001 and has amassed 174 appearances including 46 European caps for the club. The former England and British and Irish Lion helped Bath lift the European Challenge Cup trophy last may when they over came Worcester Warriors in the European final at Kingsholm
"I am pleased to be extending my contract. I feel that winning the European Challenge Cup was just reward for the players and the coaches at the club and also for the efforts I have put in during my time here." He said.
"Hopefully that was the start of something good at Bath and I believe that the success has helped the club bring in new players of the calibre of Justin Harrison, Stuart Hooper and Shontayne Hape. From a personal point of view I am very happy to continue playing here."
Bath Rugby Head Coach Steve Meehan was delighted to retain Grewcock's services saying: "It's terrific that Danny has decided to stay on for a further season. He's in great condition and provides the squad with plenty of experience, drive and leadership."
Bath Rugby will face Glasgow Warriors, Newport Gwent Dragons and the 2008 Heineken Cup finalists Toulouse in Pool 5 in the Heineken Cup 2008/09.
