Chris Budgen, the Northampton Saints prop, appeared before an independent Disciplinary Committee in Dublin today (Wednesday, 8 November, 2006).
The citing lodged by the Citing Commissioner for the match, Denis Templeton (Ireland), was for alleged stamping - contravention of Law 10.4 (b).
The independent Disciplinary Committee, chaired by Mark McParland (Ireland) and also consisting of George Spotswood (Ireland) and Roger Morris (Wales), found that the player was guilty of stamping and upheld the citing. However, the Committee determined that the offence did not warrant a red card and decided no sanction should be imposed.

The independent Disciplinary Committee, chaired by Mark McParland (Ireland) and also consisting of George Spotswood (Ireland) and Roger Morris (Wales), found that as a result of Mr Ford pleading guilty to an act of foul play and having taken into consideration strong mitigating factors, the Committee imposed a sanction of suspension from today, Wednesday, 8 November up to and including Wednesday, 15 November (seven days).
