Connacht have announced an exciting line-up of pre-season matches including the sold-out friendly against South Africa, a double header against Castres Olympique, and a trip to Harlequins in London's Twickenham Stoop.
Connacht's pre-season friendly match against South Africa on August 21st has sold out.
The only tickets which remain are for people who now purchase season tickets - a segment of the Bohermore Terrace has been reserved to accommodate new season ticket holders.
Season tickets have been selling well for what promises to be an exciting campaign for Connacht Rugby and it has been decided to hold the last few tickets for the South Africa match for new season ticket holders.
Connacht Rugby Commercial Manager Fiona Keys stresses that these remaining places will be on a first-come basis.
"There has been a huge response to the South Africa match and to the season ticket campaign.
"The fact that a season ticket also includes the pre-season games against Castres on August 28th and September 1st is an added bonus and that is before the Magners League and European Challenge Cup kicks-off," she said.
Castres Olympique come to the Sportsground a week after Connacht play the Springboks, on Tuesday 28 August (kick off 7pm) and again on the following Saturday, 1 September. Connacht then travel to London the following week for a double header with NEC Harlequins on 7th September (kick off 7.45pm) when their match with the former European Challenge Cup winners is preceded by an 'A' match.
Connacht coach Michael Bradley sees the announcement of these matches as crucial to his teams preparation for this seasons Magners League campaign.
"Castres and Harlequins are two quality sides and when you consider we'll be playing South Africa the week before Castres, we should find ourselves in a position to hit the ground running once the Magners League kicks off," the former Irish scrum half said.
"We've always tried to get preseason games against stiff opposition and this season is likely to be the toughest we've ever had. It's going to be a great test for us and also great for Connacht supporters to see these sides and we're looking forward to the games already."
