The Harlequins and England wing David Strettle looks set to miss the Rugby World Cup after breaking a bone in his foot
Strettle, who has won three caps for England and has four European appearances for the Heineken Cup Pool 3 side Harlequins, was injured during an England training session at the University of Bath on Tuesday.
The 25 year old wing is believed to have broken the fifth metatarsal in his left foot, and will see a specialist in London on Wednesday night.
"I am obviously sorry to hear about David's injury and I wish him a speedy recovery," said England coach Brian Ashton. "I won't make any decisions about a possible replacement until I receive a full briefing on the consultation tomorrow morning."
Quins Director of Rugby Dean Richards will also be awaiting news on his young rising star with Quins's first Heineken Cup outing just eight weeks away when the London side travel to Paris to play French Champions Stade Francais in Round 1.
