Former Toulouse man Gareth Thomas says his side's good season has given him quiet confidence ahead of next Sunday's Heineken Cup quarter-final.
Cardiff Blues travel to the home of the triple Heineken champions in a bid to progress to the semi-finals since the first season of European rugby.
And with next season's Heineken Cup qualification already in the bag thanks to a decent Mangers League season, Thomas and his team will be firmly focusing on their place in the final four of Europe's toughest competition.
"Europe is a really tough competition so it's a massive achievement to qualify from our pool. So we're quietly confident going to Toulouse, said Thomas, who played in all six Pool matches this season scoring one try.
Thomas won the Heineken Cup during his time in Toulouse with and has fond memories of a club ground he describes as "inspirational" and "intimidating" in an interview with Rugby World.
"It will be great to go back and play somewhere that was my home for three years. I've got some really good friends there.
But friendships will be set aside on Sunday and Thomas believes the Blues' impressive away form in both the Europe and the EDF Cup makes the game anything but a foregone conclusion.
""I believe we can win and that we've got an opportunity going there. We've performed well in Europe and picked up points on the road. We won at Bath earlier in the season in the EDF Cup and I'm looking forward to travelling away."
