Peter Hewat was in jubilant mood after his kicking masterclass propelled heroic London Irish into an historic first ever Heineken Cup semi final.
The Australian fullback kicked five penalties in a pressure-packed 20-9 quarter-final triumph over Perpignan and couldn't hide his joy at the final whistle.
He said: "This is a very massive occasion for club. It was our first Heineken Cup quarter-final and it will be our first semi-final. The club is just ecstatic.
"The lineout was awesome for us and to have a platform like that is just great for a back We went out to throw the ball around because we thought that was the beat way to beat Perpignan and so it proved.
"We didn't expect to have that sort of control. In the second half but we've worked on some things during the week and it's paid off.
"The semi is just down the road so can be considered near enough a home tie. This is just a great win for the players, the club and everyone involved."
