Toulouse scrum-half Frederic Michalak has received a last minute call up to join the France squad for their final RBS Six Nations game against Italy on Saturday.
Head Coach Marc Lievremont made the call to the 2004 Grand Slam winner following the withdrawal of Castre scrum-half Sebastien Tillous-Bordes' with an injury sustained during the defeat to England at Twickenham last Sunday.
The two-time Heineken Cup winner (2003 and 2005) hasn't lined out for France since the 2007 Rugby World Cup and is looking forward to once more wearing the Blue of France.
"It's the first time that I have made the squad since the new management team took over and I wasn't expecting to. Everything is new for me and Im very happy to be back even if I know I'm here only due to Sebastien's injury.
Speaking to the Rugbyrama website the 26-year-old added, "I will try to do my best with this opportunity. I have worked hard at Toulouse and it would appear that I have improved as a player. It's always a wonderful experience playing for France ".
After their bitter defeat to England, the French team will be aiming to finish the RBS Six Nations with a victory over Italy and forget their "Waterloo".
