Toulouse and France centre Florian Fritz has received a three week suspension for striking an Irish player during their Six Nations opener at Croke Park.
The 2005 Heineken Cup winner was originally cited for allegedly making contact with the eye / eye area of an opponent during the Ireland v France clash on Saturday, 7 February but the three man disciplinary committee in London on Wednesday found that any contact had not been deliberate.
The committee did, however, find the player guilty of committing the lesser offence of striking an opponent and imposed a suspension of three (3) weeks up to and including Sunday, 1 March.
Toulouse will face Cardiff in the Heineken Cup quarter-finals on Saturday 11, April.
