Leinster and Ireland captain Brian O'Driscoll has been voted the RBS Player of the Championship for the 2009 RBS 6 Nations by the fans.
After leading Ireland to Triple Crown and Grand Slam glory O'Driscoll has added another accolade to his list of honours which includes an unfortunately short spell as Lions captain.
The RBS players shortlist was selected by six rugby legends Jason Leonard, Keith Wood, David Sole, Ieuan Evans, Philippe St Andre and Alessandro Moscardi.
O'Driscoll out-voted Delon Armitage, Ospreys wing Lee Byrne, Leinster back row Jamie Heaslip, Munster captain and lock Paul O'Connell and Stade Français back row Sergio Parisse
O'Driscoll's next challenge will be the Heineken Cup quarter-final against Harlequins on Sunday, 12 April at 3.30 pm.
