Bath Rugby captain Michael Lipman is receiving treatment in hospital after been taken-off following a blow to the neck during Bath's Guinness Premiership match against London Wasps on Wednesday evening.
An initial investigation shows no bone injury to the England international's neck, although he will undergo further scans on Thursday afternoon and is now a doubt for the Heineken Cup quarter-final against Bath on Saturday week.
This is the second time this year that the Bath skipper had to leave the pitch due to injury following an incident in the Heineken Cup Round 6 game against Toulouse where the sustained a blow to his head which ruled him out for several weeks.
