Toulon move revitalises Wilkinson's international fortunes
26 October 2009, 5:48 pm
Jonny Wilkinsonhas been recalled to England's squad for their forthcoming Autummn matches after an impressive early season with Toulon.
Coach Martin Johnson has brought the World Cup winner back into his 32 man Senior EPS squad, captained by fellow Amlin Challenge Cup hopeful, Steve Borthwick.

Wilkinson has been invigorated since his summer move across the channel and has been a pivotal part of Toulon’s season so far.

His appearances in the Amlin Challenge Cup have raised his profile sufficiently to win back his place in the English elite squad.

Wilkinson and Toulon will next march into European action with back to back matches with Rona.

After two wins from two games, should further victories be achieved then Tanu Ugama’s team would have one foot in the quarter-finals of the competition.

And in a change to the structure of the tournament, the five Pool winners will be joined by three “best runners up” from the Heineken Cup.
