As if Danny Cipriani's decision to turn his back on London Wasps and England and to move Down Under wasn't controversial enough, the rumour mill continues to swirl around the 22-year-old.
Having already signed up for Melbourne Rebels and the Super 15, Cipriani, who featured for Wasps in last season's Amlin Challenge Cup, has been training with, and catching the eye of, coaches at Queen's Park Rangers and Tottenham Hotspur before joining the Rebels' pre-season camp in October.
Cipriani spent two weeks training with Tottenham, and although his prospects of a soccer career are remote, former England midfielder Tim Sherwood, the club's technical director responsible for player development, was quoted as saying: "I don't know how long he is giving to the game, but if Danny has any interest in being a professional footballer, he would have a chance."
Asked about what he is doing at QPR, Cipriani said: "I'm just down there training, keeping fit."
