Match report
Gloucester restored some Heineken Cup pride with a morale-boosting win over Glasgow Warriors at Kingsholm.

The 19-6 victory keeps their slim chances of quarter-final qualification alive ahead of the Round 5 encounter with pool leaders Biarritz and the final day trip to Newport Gwent Dragons.

Having been beaten 33-11 in Glasgow lat weekend, it looked as though a similar outcome might be on the cards in the West Country as Gloucester trailed 6-0 after the opening 40 minutes.

But an impressive second-half display changed things around for Gloucester who moved into second place in Pool 2.

Tries from wing Charlie Sharples and second row Alex Brown, together with nine points from the boot of former Cardiff fly-half Nicky Robinson, saw Gloucester bounce back from a comprehensive reverse at Firhill in Round 3.

A 13th-minute penalty and a 26th-minute drop goal from Dan Parks had moved Glasgow in front before Robinson brought Gloucester level with a brace of penalties of his own 10 minutes into the second period.

Sharples then crossed for the game's opening try seven minutes later after useful contributions from England internationals Olly Morgan and James Simpson-Daniel.

Replacement back row Luke Narraway picked up Robinson's cut-out pass to carry on the good work, with Simpson-Daniel finding Sharples wide on the right. The 20-year-old then wriggled through three lacklustre tackles for his second score in two games against Glasgow.

Robinson's missed conversion ensured Glasgow remained within a single score at 11-6 with just over 20 minutes left to play, but not for long as he kicked a 65th-minute penalty.

Glasgow needed the next score to raise hopes of a comeback, but it never happened. Instead it was Gloucester who put the result beyond doubt after 70 minutes when Brown crossed for their second try.

Morgan and Simpson-Daniel were again at the heart of the breakthrough, with Alasdair Strokosch providing the final burst before Brown dived over from close range.

Robinson failed with the conversion once more but the game was now beyond Glasgow who slipped to their third defeat in four European outings this season.
