Knee ligament injuries for Tipoki and Evans
24 November 2008, 5:29 pm
Munster centre Rua Tipoki and Wales and Ospreys lock Ian Evans will be out of the action for several weeks due to knee ligament injuries.
The 2008 Heineken Cup champions have confirmed that Tipoki's injury, sustained in the game against the All Blacks last week, rules him out of the back-to-back Heineken Cup Rounds 3 and 4 clashes with ASM Clermont Auvergne.

"Rua suffered medial ligament damage and is not expected to return to action until sometime in January," said Munster team manager Shaun Payne.

Wales forward Evans looks set to miss all the remaining 2008/09 Heineken Cup action after suffering a serious injury in Saturday's defeat by New Zealand. He could be sidelined for six to nine months.

"There is cruciate damage and we are looking at an operation in the next couple of weeks and then between six and nine months after that." said team manager Alan Phillips Wales.
