Heineken Man of the Match Dimitri Yachvili said the challenge of facing triple champions Toulouse in the tournament's landmark 15th final at Stade de France on Saturday, 22 May, gave the club the chance to create history.
Yachvili became only the sixth player to break the 500 points barrier in the Heineken Cup by scoring all 18 of the Biarritz points with a 100 per cent strike rate.
"Playing in a Heineken Cup final is all the motivation we will need - we are 80 minutes away from something very big for Biarritz," he said.
"Since the defeat by Munster in the 2006 final our team has changed a lot but yes, we talked about that and we are very proud to have got it right this time.
"We knew if we won the forward fight we would win the match and that is what happened.
"But we are also very proud to have beaten a great Munster team and as we did not do very well in the French championship we wanted to show we can do well in the Heineken Cup.
"Today with Damien Traille out injured I had the added responsibility taking all the kicks and at half-time we talked about playing more of a kicking game to secure territory."
