Big blow for RC Toulon

Philippe Saint-Andre's men take on Cardiff Blues in Sunday's Amlin Challenge Cup Final in Marseilles but they will do so without one of their star performers.

Full back Luke Rooney has been in superb form this season but the Australian won't take part in the Stade Veledrome showpiece.

Rooney suffered a fractured collarbone in last weekend's heartbreaking Top 14 semi-final defeat to ASM Clermont Auvergne.

His injury has been described as a "slight fracture on his right shoulder", meaning he may have played his last game for the club.

Rooney signed for Worcester in January but it is not yet certain whether he will still move to England after the Warriors were relegated from the Guinness Premiership.

In a second setback for Toulon, winger Olivier Missoup is still doubtful for the final after suffering an ankle knock in the 35-29 extra time defeat to Clermont that ended their hopes of domestic glory.
