Yet they have not won away from home this season following a 25-18 loss at Stade Francais and a 12-12 draw with Grenoble.
But, after a year out on European action, the 2011 Amlin semi-finalists will be keen to get back to adding some more silverware on the continent to restore their proud reputation of the past when they claimed the 1997 Heineken Cup and finished runners up 12 months later.
They will look to their multi-national squad for inspiration with the likes of South Africa's Riaan Swanepoel, Australian wing Alfie Mafi and Fiji number eight Sisa Koyamaibole in their ranks.
Calvisano, who have only won five games in Europe, finished bottom of their group in last year's competition and will hope to improve on that standing this time around.
However, they won their home game - beating Bucuresti Wolves 34-20 back in January. The Romanians are in the same pool as Calvisano once again and Pool 3 is completed by Aviva Premiership side Newcastle Falcons.
